Smoked bacon wrapped pickles are a delicious and unique snack that has gained popularity in recent years. Not only are they tasty, but they also make for a visually appealing appetizer or party snack.
One of the best things about bacon wrapped pickles is their versatility. They can be cooked in the oven or on the grill or the smoker like I did. This makes them perfect for any occasion. Plus, you can experiment with different types of pickles and bacon to find the perfect flavor combination.
These pickles are so popular that they were tried on live TV by Sheri Shepherd for her day time tv show. See what she had to say here at the 29:15 mark.

To make bacon wrapped pickles, you will need:
- Pickle spears
- Thin sliced bacon
- Toothpicks (optional)
- BBQ Seasoning
Simply wrap a slice of bacon around each pickle and secure it with a toothpick if needed.
I just tuck the ends at the bottom and it works out great. This is an optional step but I like to season the top of the bacon wrapped pickles with a little bbq seasoning. I generally choose something sweet to go along with the sriracha mayo dipping sauce. Then repeat this process until you have used all of the pickles and bacon.
I cook the bacon wrapped pickles on my smoker at 350°F for 30-40 minutes until the bacon is crispy. For more smoke flavor start them at 225°F and work your way up to 350 to finish. I used my Camp Chef woodwind pro pellet smoker with Bear Mountain cherry pellets. You can also cook them in your oven or air fryer which works great!
Serve the bacon wrapped pickles as is or make a sriracha mayo dipping sauce which really takes it to the next level!
Making the sriracha mayo dipping sauce
To make the dipping sauce combine 2 tablespoons of mayo and sour cream, then 1 tablespoon of sriracha and 1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar. You can substitute lime juice or apple cider vinegar too. Homemade ranch is also a great dipping sauce.
In addition to being a tasty treat, bacon wrapped pickles also have the added benefit of being low carb and keto friendly. They make for a great snack or appetizer for those following a high fat, low carb diet. The low carb option is always a bonus in my book.
The next time you are looking for a new and exciting snack to try, give smoked bacon wrapped pickles a try. They might sound a little strange but I promise you won't be disappointed!

Is it possible to cook these in an air fryer? If so, what temp/time?
Jordan Hanger says
Try 350°F or 8-10 minutes. You are looking for the bacon to get cooked through and crispy.
Ian says
What temp and time do you recommend for cooking in the oven?
Jordan Hanger says
350*F until the bacon gets crispy the way you like.
John Eckloff says
I took whole dills, sliced them lengthwise, ( not all the way through ).
Hallowed them out with a measuring teaspoon, then stuffed with pulled pork and wrapped in bacon. Smoked at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes. When the bacon looks done, pull off, rest and enjoy.
Jordan Hanger says
Ok you're definitely onto something!
