How to Make Italian Hoagie Dip
This dip comes together fast, making it ideal for easy recipes or first time home cooks.
Make the crostinis.
I like to make homemade crostinis to spread the hoagie dip onto. You can also use store bought chips or crackers.
To make them at home, slice a French baguette into ½ inch slices and place them onto a large baking sheet. Spread some butter and minced garlic onto each piece.

Place your oven on a low broil setting and place the baking sheet on the middle rack so the bread can toast. Watch the bread carefully. It should only take 1-2 minutes.
You can flip them after 1 minute so they toast on both sides if needed.

Once the bread is toasted to your preferred doneness remove and set it aside.
Chop Everything Up
Use a large bowl or cutting board and stack the lettuce, meats, tomato and cheese. Then carefully chop into small pieces. This ensures every bite has a little of everything.

Add the Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, hot pepper spread or banana peppers and a spoonful of mayo to form your dressing mixture.
If you make this on a cutting board like I usually do, just add the ingredients on top and chop again and mix together.

Chill the dip
Transfer the dip to an airtight container and let it chill for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve It Up
Spoon the dip into a bread bowl or serving bowl and dig in with homemade crostinis, hoagie rolls, crackers or chips.
