There's something about crispy fried chicken and fluffy waffles together that just works. Add some crispy bacon, a little maple syrup, and a touch of BBQ seasoning, and you've got a sweet and savory sandwich that's hard to put down.
This Chicken and Waffle Sandwich is my version of Chic-Fil-A's one. It is an easy recipe that takes boneless skinless chicken thighs, coats them in seasoned flour, fries them until golden and crispy, and then sandwiches them between homemade waffles with bacon.
The best part? You don't need a complicated recipe or a long list of ingredients. This is an easy chicken and waffles recipe that's perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or even a fun dinner.

Instructions
Step 1: Prepare breading
Add your BBQ seasoning to the flour and mix well.
Step 2: Prepare breading
In a separate bowl, crack your eggs and whisk them together to create your egg wash.
step 3: Bread the Chicken
Coat each boneless skinless chicken thigh in seasoned flour.
Dip it into the egg wash, then back into the seasoned flour and coat it again.
Step 4: Fry the chicken
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. You want enough oil to come about halfway up the sides of the chicken.
Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until chicken is golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
Step 5: Make the Waffles
Prepare your waffle batter according to the package instructions and add maple syrup to the batter.
Pour the batter into your waffle maker and cook according to your waffle maker's instructions.
Once the waffles are cooked, we like to pop them into a toaster for a little extra crisp.
Step 6: Assemble the Sandwich
Place one waffle on a plate.
Add your crispy fried chicken, followed by cooked bacon.
Top with another waffle.
Serve immediately with additional maple syrup for dipping.
Pro Tips
Don't overcrowd the pan
Give the chicken enough room to fry properly. Overcrowding can cause the oil temperature to drop and result in less crispy chicken.
Use a thermometer
The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F. Because chicken thighs can vary in thickness, a thermometer is the easiest way to know they're done.
Toast the waffles
This is one of my favorite little tricks. After making the waffles, put them in a toaster for a little extra crispiness. It gives the waffles more structure so they can hold the chicken and bacon without getting too soft.
Final Bite.
Chicken and waffles are already a classic, but turning them into a crispy, bacon loaded sandwich takes things to another level. You get crunchy BBQ seasoned fried chicken, crispy bacon, fluffy waffles, and sweet maple syrup all in one bite.
It's the perfect combination of sweet, savory, and crispy. Whether you're making it for breakfast, brunch, or a weekend craving, this is one recipe that's guaranteed to disappear fast.
