How to make Sloppy Joe Corn Dogs
Making your Sloppy Joe.
This isn't the sloppy Joe from a can we all grew up with. This is homemade and its really delicious! Here's how to make it.
Also here are some extra details on Homemade Sloppy Joes if you need it!
In a large pan saute diced onions in some olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder or use my All Day Seasoning.

After 5-10 minutes when the onions have softened, add the ground beef and break it up as it cooks. Season it with your favorite bbq seasoning. Mine is my All Night BBQ Rub!

After the ground beef is cooked through, add ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Mix that in well to incorporate and simmer on medium low for a few minutes to come together.

That's it! You've now made some delicious sloppy Joe! If you have any leftovers, use the sloppy Joe in a sandwich. They're great!

Cooking the corn dogs.
I use frozen corn dogs but feel free to make your own from scratch.
I just follow the package instructions whether I'm doing them in my oven or my smoker! Generally 350°F for 20-30 minutes gets the job done.

Butterflying the corn dogs.
Once the corn dogs are cooked and have cooled down for a few minutes the stick should slide right out. Then carefully take a knife and cut a slit from the top to the bottom to butterfly the corn dogs.
Make sure you don't cut them all the way through. Then gently pull the sides apart so you can fill the middle with the sloppy Joe.
Assembling the Sloppy Joe corn dogs.
Open up your corn dogs and place a few spoonfuls of sloppy Joe into each one. Then top them with shredded cheddar cheese.

Place them in your oven, under the broiler until the cheese is melted all the way. You can garnish with some chives if you are feeling fancy or just devour them like we do at home!

Storing and reheating leftovers.
Place your corndogs in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days. To warm up, place them in your oven at 350°F for about 5 minutes or you can also use a microwave or air fryer.

My husband rarely asks me to make specific recipes but he did with this one and I’m so glad he did! It was a 10/10 and fed our inner childhood heart with goodness! If you let yourself have a cheat day, let this me the one you make. I only wished I made my sloppy Joe even sloppier because that’s how the kids like em.
