Why this recipe works.
This pizza dip works because it's easy to make at home and you don't have to worry about messing with the dough. That's always a pain when trying to make homemade pizza.
Chances are you already have a lot of these ingredients at home so shopping for what you need should be quick!
How to make cheesy pepperoni and sausage pizza dip.
Cooking the sausage.
In a pan on medium heat, cook your sausage until browned. Season it with a blend of salt, pepper, and garlic powder along with some dried Italian seasoning.
Once done, remove any excess grease and set aside.

Layering and assembling the pizza dip.
Mix together softened cream cheese, sour cream, and more salt, pepper and garlic powder.
To the bottom of a 1o inch cast iron pan add your cream cheese mixture then a ⅓ of the ground sausage. Sprinkle it evenly across the top of the cream cheese.
Then add half a jar of marinara sauce, another ⅓ of the sausage, shredded mozzarella cheese, and top with the remaining sausage, mini pepperonis and a little more cheese.
I like to layer the ingredients together so that you get a bit of everything in each bite!

Cooking the pizza dip.
You can place the cast iron pan in your oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes or in your smoker for about an hour like I normally do.

Once the cheese has melted on top and the edges start to get bubbly, this dip is ready to eat! Serve it up with garlic crostinis, tortilla chips, crackers, or anything else you can dig up from the pantry.

Storing and reheating pizza dip.
Store this dip for up to 4 days by placing some foil over your cast iron pan and refrigerating. You can also transfer the dip into an airtight container if you prefer.
To reheat, place the cast iron pan back into the oven until the cheese has melted through and everything is warm in the center. This will take about 20 minutes at 350°F. I doubt you'll have much leftover though.

Made it today for the Super Bowl and it is a HIT! It’s even better then I thought. I thin sliced Italian bread, buttered, seasoned it and put it under the broiler. Perfect addition to the dip. Well done Jordan👌🏼

Can you do this without cast iron skillet
Jordan Hanger says
Yes of course
Alan says
Seems like you do this in the Crock-Pot to make it easier. Just brown the sausage on the stove and add it along with the cheese last. Then mix it up as it heats.
Jordan Hanger says
I'm sure you could and then it would stay warm for hours.
