  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 beef or pork hot dogs
  • 4 sturdy hot dog buns (brioche or bakery-style)
  • ½ cup pizza sauce, divided (plus more for dipping)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 pepperoni slices
  • Optional garnish: grated Parmesan, red-pepper flakes, fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Air fry the Dogs
Preheat your air fryer to 375 °F .  Arrange hot dogs in the basket and cook 6-7 minutes, turning halfway, until heated through and lightly blistered.
  2. Prep the Buns
Split buns without cutting all the way through. Spread about 1 tablespoon pizza sauce inside each bun to coat the bottom.
  3. Assemble the Pizza Dogs
Place a cooked hot dog in each sauced bun. Top with another spoonful of pizza sauce, a generous sprinkle of mozzarella, and 3 pepperoni slices on top of each one.
  4. Melt & Toast
Carefully return the loaded hot dogs to the basket and cook an additional 2–3 minutes, just until cheese is melted and buns are lightly toasted.
  5. Finish & Serve
Remove with tongs, garnish with Parmesan, basil, or red-pepper flakes if desired, and serve immediately with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
