Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb thick cut bacon diced
- 1 medium yellow onion diced
- 3 cups brussels sprouts quartered
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of salt, pepper and garlic powder blend (or 1 teaspoon of each)
- 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients by dicing the bacon, yellow onion, and washing and quartering the Brussels sprouts.
- Heat up a large 12 inch cast iron pan on medium high heat, and sauté the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the bacon from the grease and set aside. Leave about a 1/4 cup of grease in the skillet and decrease the heat to medium. Add the yellow onions in the same pan and sauté for 5-7 minutes minutes until softened. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Once the onions have softened, add back the bacon and Brussels sprouts. Season with the salt, pepper, garlic blend and brown sugar. Stir well to combine.
- Place cast iron pan in the oven and bake at 375°F for 30-40 minutes until Brussels sprouts have cooked through and have gotten crispy on the edges.
- Remove the cast iron pan from the oven and drizzle the tops of the Brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze.
