Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 6 small flour tortillas
- 6 slices American cheese
- 1 tablespoon salt, black pepper, garlic powder (or use All Day Rub)
- Shredded iceberg lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Diced onions
- Dill pickles, sliced
- Your favorite burger sauce or homemade Big Mac-style sauce (see below)
Optional Homemade Burger Sauce:
- ½ cup mayo
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp relish
- Few dashes Worcestershire sauce
- Pinch of garlic powder and black pepper
Instructions
- Press the beef: Take a small handful of ground beef and press it flat onto each tortilla, spreading to the edges (about ¼ inch thick). The meat will shrink slightly as it cooks.
- Season: Season the beef side generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder—or use All Day Rub for extra flavor.
- Cook meat-side down: Heat a flat top, cast iron skillet, or large pan over medium-high heat. Place the tortillas beef-side down and cook for 2–3 minutes, until the meat is browned and crispy.
- Flip and melt: Flip each taco and cook the tortilla side for another 1–2 minutes. Place a slice of American cheese on top of the beef and let it melt while the bottom crisps up.
- Add toppings: Remove from heat and top with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and your burger sauce or condiments of choice.
