Ribeye steak sliders with cowboy butter

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of Kings Hawaiian sweet slider buns
  • 16 oz ribeye stek 
  • 1 tablespoon steak seasoning 
  • 6 slices of cheddar cheese 
  • 2 yellow onions thinly sliced 
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil 
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar 

Cowboy butter 

  • 1/2 stick of softened butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika 
  • 2 tablespoon chopped parsley 
  • 1 tablespoon mince thyme 
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish 
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 
  • Juice from half a lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt 
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 

Instructions

  1. First caramelize onions. Thinly slice yellow onions and caramelize them over medium low heat with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, salt, pepper and sugar. Continue to stir and cook down for 20-30 minutes until soft and golden brown. Set aside. 
  2. Season steak with steak seasoning (Or use salt, pepper and garlic powder) then grill steak until the internal temperature reaches 130°F. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing. 
  3. Prepare cowboy butter by combining all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. Mix well to combine.
  4. Assemble sliders on slider buns with sliced cheddar cheese, a layer of caramelized onions, sliced steak, and a few spoonfuls of cowboy butter spread on top of the steak. Place top buns on and brush extra cowboy butter over the assembled sliders .
  5. Bake the sliders at 350°F for 15 minutes or until the buns are toasted and cheese has melted through. Slice into individual sliders and enjoy!
