  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 cups of chopped brisket
  • 1 cup diced yellow onion
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Dice yellow onion. In a pan on medium heat, add olive oil and onions then sauté for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and softened.
  2. Chop brisket and add to the onions and continue cooking for 3 more minutes until the brisket has warmed through and the edges start to crisp up.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and reduce the heat to medium low to simmer for 15 more minutes. The jam will reduce and should thicken.
  4. Allow the jam to cool for 5 minutes before adding to burgers.
