  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and garlic powder  blend (or use All Day Rub)
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 1 tbsp BBQ seasoning (or use All Night Rub)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water (optional, if needed to thin sauce)
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted
  • Optional toppings: coleslaw, crushed potato chips, or pickles

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add diced onions and sauté for 5–10 minutes until softened. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (or All Day Rub).
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet. Break it up and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if needed. Season with BBQ rub.
  4. Stir in ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.
  5. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water to reach desired consistency.
  6. Lower the heat to medium, cover, and simmer on low for 10–15 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  7. Serve on toasted buns. Add optional toppings like slaw or chips for extra flavor and texture.
  8. Enjoy immediately or store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
